David Scoggins has called North Georgia home for his whole life, hailing from Calhoun and earning his Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Berry College in Rome, Georgia. Now, with 36 years of experience in accounting and tax services, he serves as the partner in charge of our Dalton office. His work primarily focuses on all things tax - preparation, planning, controversy resolution, and more. He also helps clients design and implement ERISA retirement plans. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), David enjoys interacting with clients but also enjoys "helping the younger Nichols Cauley staff members grow professionally through client interaction."
Education is important to David and his family. His wife, Amy, is employed by Calhoun City Schools, and David himself was honored to serve on the Calhoun City School Board for a decade. He also served as chairman of the Gordon County Chamber of Commerce and is currently secretary/treasurer of the Gordon County Development Authority. David and Amy have two children, Emily and Matt, who are currently pursuing degrees at Georgia Southern University and the University of Mississippi, respectively.
